Cinnamon Toast

Here's a very quick breakfast recipe. This is good with coffee or tea. Enjoy!

1.  Spread butter on your bread. You can use any bread, I prefer whole grain.

2. Who say's waffle maker is only used for waffles? You can also use it as a toaster. Put bread to the waffle maker until the butter melts. After that, sprinkle cinnamon to your bread. Toast.

3. Transfer the bread to a plate and cut them diagonally. Drizzle with maple syrup.

Me and My Auburn Hair

It's funny that Singaporeans usually think that I'm a student, and I really feel flattered because they think that I'm younger than my real age. Haha! So to get rid of the student peg, and besides my friends say na hindi bagay sakin ang black hair dahil mukha akong mabait, I decided to have my hair colored.

Exchange Hair Plus, Plaza Singapura

I waited for almost an hour for my turn in the salon, ganun kadami yung tao! First step was application of the hair dye. I chose a reddish shade. After that, the hairdresser subjected my hair to this amazing heater.

My hair was shampooed and conditioned. Next was the Shiseido water spa treatment.

Finally, my hair was blow-dried and styled. Ang ganda diba??? ^__^

Mongolian Bowl

Every engineering student in UP Diliman is a fan of the Eng'g Caf's Mongolian Bowl. I can still remember how Kuya Al prepares it so I gave it a try.

INGREDIENTS:

fried cubed tofu, minced garlic and onion, carrots

bean sprout, cabbage

chicken breast, walnuts

PROCEDURE

1. Saute the garlic and onion. Add the chicken. Stir until the color changes. Add the fried tofu.

2. Add the vegetables

3. Add the sotanghon.

4. Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil and brown sugar. Top it with walnuts.

Grilled Herbed Chicken with Broccoli in Lemon Butter Sauce

For the love of Go Go Gourmet way back in college, here's my own version of Grilled Herbed Chicken with Broccoli in Lemon Butter Sauce. Sorry if I don't have exact measurements because I have a PhD at Tanchation (puro tantsa tantsa lang).

1. Marinate chicken breast fillet overnight with lemon sauce, sliced garlic, salt and dried basil.

2. Drizzle about a tablespoon of olive oil into the grill pan. Use of the traditional griller (the one using charcoal) requires a permit here in Singapore, so why bother if you have a grill pan and an electric stove.

3. Grill the chicken, shiny side down first. You can also season it with a little salt and pepper. It took me about 20 mins to achieve the beautiful golden brown with grill marks.

4. For the side dish, saute minced garlic in melted butter. Add lemon sauce.

5. Toss in the blanched broccoli and give a stir.

The 25 by 25 Project

25 events in 25 places within 25 wonderful years...

I may not have a huge amount of savings, but I do have lots of pictures and plenty of stories to tell.

1.  Graduation in UP Diliman - BS Chemical Engineering, quota course, 1st choice

(enough of the yabang) I did not only gain honor and excellence in this University, but I also learned how to choose my battles and how to put a God damn fight :)

 2. Oathtaking of Chemical Engineers in Sofitel - proud moment for my parents and also for myself :)

3. Kiss Mickey in Disneyland - I've always been a Disney baby, so indeed, this is the happiest place on earth!

4. Feel like twins in front of Petronas Twin Towers - but the experience was different when I'm no longer with my sister.

5. Merlion's kiss in Singapore - I used to hate this place the first time I went here (21st bday) because of the high-speed escalators. Ironic that this is now my 2nd home

6. Temple Run in Thailand - but more of camwhoring actually

7. Yoga in Indonesia - for the love of inner peace

 8. Family picture in Pangasinan - where the Quimsons are from. But since we're a huge family, it's more likely to become a barangay picture

9. Skywalk in Cebu - because I love heights!
10. Fun Run in McKinley -my 1st and probably the last due to my knee condition :(

11. See the world the other way around in Clark - suddenly life turns you upside down, and you find out that this is the right way
.

12. See a tarsier and act like a tarsier in Bohol - I expected lots of tarsiers, however, there are only few, so I volunteered to be one :P

13. Pangudngod sa layo ng Pagudpud - longest travel by land ever.

14. Relive the history in Laoag - fun under the sun!

15. Experience the Spanish era in Vigan - Maria Clara ang peg :)

16. When and Wild in Boracay - swim all day, party all night!

17. Drink by the beach in Subic. This is the best definition of chillax!

18. Wakeboarding in Nuvali
 19. Whitewater Rafting CDO - 2nd life for us!

20. Become a human rollercoaster in Bukidnon

21. Swim all day in Camiguin

22. Makakita ng pag-asa sa Davao - and we did, literally!

23. Roadtrip to Tagaytay - this is where I go when I wanna go far, but not so far.

24. Go Far Far Away - not once but twice :)

 25. But at the end of the day, still, home is where the ♥ is

It's me

To start an entry is far more difficult than solving a math problem, probably because I’m not a writer, I’m an engineer.

To my family, I’m Bunz - the youngest yet the bravest. They know me as someone who craves for adventure, for fun.

To my colleagues here in SG, I’m Brenda - the smart Chemical Engineer from UP Diliman who always has her game face on.

To my dear UP Professors, I’m SSPS jr (salapi salapi pera salapi) - the fierce fashionista who is following their footsteps.

To my orgmates, I’m Brends - the Tambay Queen. From genmeets to inumans, kaladkarin as it may sound, I’m always present.

To my highschool friends, my superfamily, I’m Dang - the loudest. I’m the leader of the laughtrips and a die-hard member of the countless emergency meetings.

To my chem engg friends, I’m Mami Brends - the tough one. No one mess up with any of us, or else your dead. A pure blooded dragonesa indeed!

To my HP workmates, I’m MB - Mariang Baliwag. They know my insane laugh, my signature frown, and my roller coaster story about love and life.

To me, i dunno. People seems to know me better than I know myself. But I think what makes life challenging is the journey involving the endless soul searching. We go thumbthumping - we get knocked down, but we get up again. So just enjoy, and take a ride with me!
